Greetings Skylanders, long time no see! As you all know, it’s been a while since you’ve seen any proper update on the development of the Minecraft side of Starfall. Well, we’re here to finally give you exactly that, an update on where we are. To make this easier for you all to understand, we’ll be splitting this up into two main sections, “The Situation” and “Going Forward”. So, with that out of the way, let’s begin!
The Situation
Since work on the Starfall 5e setting began, it’s been apparent that D&D was by far the best way to explore and show off the complexity and depth of Lyra’s story and world. Eventually, however, we came to the realization that, in order to make the best possible experience for all of the D&D fans, our Minecraft project would have to be sidelined and put away for another day.
But do not fret, intrepid Skylanders, for things aren’t over yet!
Under the guidance of Dylan, the Minecraft team has chosen to continue their work on Starfall as Starfury, a new company. Without skipping a beat, Starfury will be picking up what Starfall put down, with full independence from Starfall. Starfury is a truly unique project that plans to bring countless hours of Skylands-themed fun to everyone within the near future. However, this exciting new change isn’t just limited to the company name and branding…
Going Forward
Going forward, Starfury will be completely independent of Starfall, with our own brand identity, discord server, website and more. While the core team from Starfall will still be here, expect to see plenty of new faces and characters in our crew and in our story. You can also expect to see far more frequent updates, with minor development updates pretty often and major ones every quarter (the first of which coming on 22/3/2024)! And for the sugar on the cream, expect more community interactions and transparency going forwards! If you've got a question that you want to ask, ask and you shall almost always receive! That's right, no more silence from us. So, with that out of the way, let's welcome in a new era for Starfall and Starfury. While this may be an era of separation, this is also an era of great change for the better. So, dear Skylanders, watch this space. Remember, this isn't the end, but rather a brand new beginning…
